Hello skiers and welcome to 2016-2017 Junior Blog!
I hope you’re as excited as I am to meet you all and get started with training.
We may have not met before but my name is Marla Bailey and this year I will be your coach.
I have skied, ran, and mountain biked competitively my whole life and have loved every minute of it! I went off to Tennessee for university on a cross-country running and track and field scholarship and had an amazing time and made some incredible friends.
After university I came back to Barrie because I missed the snow. Since then I started coaching cross-country running at Georgian College and mountain biking and skiing and Hardwood Ski and Bike.
This is who you should be looking for at our first training session this Saturday, October 1st.
We will be heading out roller skiing after everyone gets to know each other and will be doing strength/circuit work as well.
Here is a list of what you will need to bring:
- A water bottle
- Extra clothes (socks, shirt, jacket)
- A towel
- Snacks
- Running shoes
- Helmet
- ski boots
- skating poles
- A bright shirt!!!! As bright as possible.
Something like this would work:
It looks like it might rain on Saturday so bringing extra clothes is very important!
Bringing too much is better then not enough!
