What a difference just a few weeks make! From the depths of despair to unbridled joy! Let's look to make the most of ski season this holiday break and get out as much as possible
During the Holidays, Tuesday practices will take place at 10:00 AM to take advantage of the SUN! We will also be adding practices on Sundays starting this week!
Both Saturday and Sunday practices over the holidays will also be at 10:00 AM
Tuesday - Skiing at HSB
We will look to Classic Ski again on Tuesday. Please meet at The Chalet at 9:50 AM so we can get skiing by 10:00 AM and practice will run until 11:30 AM.
Projections right now are for around -7C at the time of our practice - so perfect Blue Kick Wax conditions!
There is lots of snow projected to fall later on Tuesday, so plan to get back out to HSB on Thursday for another ski!
Saturday – Holiday Ski Fun at HSB
We will have some holiday fun at HSB that will include a ski, some games as well as our Annual Gift Exchange and Festive Sweater/Hat Day.
We will send a follow-up email with more details on the practice, including whether we will Skate or Classic, later this week.
We'll also keep to our holiday timelines of arriving by 9:50AM so that we can get moving by 10:00 AM. Meet at The Chalet and practice will run until 12:00 PM if the weather permits
Sunday – More Skiing at HSB
We will also send a separate follow-up email with more details on the practice, including whether we will Skate or Classic, owning to the unsettled weather projected for overnight on Saturday and into Sunday morning.
We'll also keep to our holiday timelines of arriving by 9:50AM so that we can get moving by 10:00 AM. Meet at The Chalet and practice will run until 12:00 PM if the weather and/or trail conditions permit.
As for the rest of your week, here are some suggestions for other activities should you need them:
- Be active every day, get enough sleep and be sure to always eat healthily
- Running – Try for 20-30min. Start easy, but find some hills if you can!
- Cycling – Try for 20-30min, indoors on a Spin Bike while watching your favourite show
- Fun at Recess – Play Basketball, Touch Football, Grounders, or just about anything that has you moving and jumping
- Strength Training – Keep up with the exercises that we did at practice in the Fall on your own. We would encourage everyone to keep up with doing one Run/Strength session each week.
- Be sure to keep working on your mobility either through stretching, yoga, pilates, etc. There are LOTS of great resources online
- We know that most of you are quite active between practices, just be sure you are doing something for 45-60min most every day.
