Feb 2-8 PJ Day, Winterfest & Sounder Ski Tour

February 2- 8 Pj Day, Winterfest & Sounder

What a weekend! With over 700 racers entered you all held your own! After three hard days of racing we ended up with 5 golds, 2 silvers, 4 bronze (one to Jenifer with a plate in her leg), 8 just off the podium in fourth or fith, 19 in the top ten, 22 in the top twenty and 34 more strong results in the top 100. Well done everyone, what an experience! We all owe a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success, from the groomers to your parents. You all made this team thrive. I hope everyone learned something, and had as much fun as I did.

For the next two weeks we will have to move our open Tuesday practice to Wednesday. I apologize for any inconveniences this causes.

This Saturday we will meet at 9:00am at HSB for our annual PJ Downhill day! Bring your PJs and prepare to stun onlookers as we tear up and down every hill we can find. Should be a cozy blast! Saturday evening feel free to meet me at the Barrie Winterfest from 5:00pm- 8:00pm. Hardwood is letting people demo skis and there will be a groomed loop on the ice. This will be a very fun festival if you can make it!

This Sunday the whole team is headed to Parry Sound for the Sounder Ski tour. This is a very special event. You get to pick and choose your race anyway you like! Races range from 2km to 22km in both skate and classic disciplines. If you are interested, the organizers will even allow you to do a skate and classic race back to back. How cool is that? As usual, details and further instructions will come via email.

Big thanks to Kwai for the pictures below! More coming soon.
