I hope everyone who has been way had a great week...we had some awesome practices on fabulous snow and some great chats. I'm excited to jump right in this week.
Training this week:
Tuesday: Strength! I know everyone will be busy this week but i especially want everyone working on their squats.

Friday: Hardwood 3:00-6:00pm- Skate and classic
Long ski and prerace chat/starts
Saturday: No practice. We will chat more this week about what each of us should/like to do the day before a race.
Sunday: Mountain View Ski Center, 9:00 am
Unfortunately I wont be with you on race day :( Jack will be there and he and Dwayne Barber will be there to help with waxing. We will make sure you are all set before race day.

The Midland Ski Club invites you to this year’s edition of the Midland Loppet. Skiers all ages, abilities, and technique are invited to this event, to enjoy the best trails that Mountainview Ski Center has to offer.

Sunday, January 8th, 2017 9:30 AM Day-of Registration Deadline (Cash Only)
Sunday January 8th, 2017 10:00 AM 15km start. Subsequent distances to start in 5 minute waves.
ENTRY DEADLINE:
Pre-register by Friday January 6, 2017, with payment, online at zone4.ca.
Day of registration available, cash only.
MIDLAND LOPPET EVENTS
15 km Skate/Classic, 9 km Skate/Classic, 5 km Skate/Classic, 3km Skate/Classic, 1.5 km Skate/Classic in waves 5 minutes apart starting at 10 am.
SOD RACE SERIES PARTICIPATION:
The Midland Loppet is part of the 2017 SOD Race Series. The following categories are included in the SOD Race Series, in order to earn SOD Championship points:
Pee Wee boys (YOB 2004 to 2007) and girls (YOB 2005 to 2007) 3 km Classic technique
Midget boys (YOB 2002-2003) and girls (YOB 2003-2004), 5km Classic technique
Juvenile boys (YOB 2001) and girls (YOB 2001-2002)
Junior boys and girls (YOB 1999-2000) 9 km Classic technique
Open (1986 – 1998) & Masters 15 km Classic technique
Ski Waxing Protocol:
This race is a part of the SOD Paraffin Race Series. In order to increase accessibility of the sport, focus on athlete development, and reduce costs, no glide waxes with fluorocarbons are permitted. No Low Fluoro wax, High Fluoro wax, powders, hardeners, or gels are permitted. This restriction applies to all categories, including Open and Masters. This restriction does not apply to grip waxes.

Pre Registration Day-of Registration (Cash only)
1.5km events $15.00 $20.00
3km events $20.00 $30.00
5km events $20.00 $30.00
9km and 15km events $25.00 $35.00
AWARDS:
Award categories will be determined at organizers discretion based on registration numbers. Irrespective of event podium, SOD points will be tabulated per SOD categories (as described above).
Draw prizes for all racers!
FACILITIES:
There is a chalet with a concession, rental shop, and two washrooms / change room. There is also a small waxing room available.
FOOD:
There will be snacks and hot drinks at the finish for all participants.
