Hi! Great practice Saturday despite buckets and buckets of rain! The weather is looking much more "fall-like" but that will not stop us! We had a great look at what heart rate zones look like and mean to your training and racing - and how to figure out what zone we are in without using a fancy watch!
Let's plan to reschedule our duathlon race until this weekend coming - Nov 4th.
I want you to start watching some ski videos at home and looking for your favourite athletes (skiers).
I recommend you look for 'Tour de Ski' videos and see what you tube has to offer. Who are your favourite skiers? Why? Are they Canadian? What do you notice about the way they ski? Are they good starters? Great finishers? Sprinters or long distance?
Maybe we can share some of your favourite videos!! Here is mine!! Send me yours and I will post them - kgetty26@gmail.com
Video Suggestion
Monday: rest or alternate sports
Tuesday: run or rollerski 30-45 min with 3-5 2min sprints
Wednesday: Team Training - rollerski technique (weather permitting) Erg/bounding if rainy
Thursday: Strength -3 upper body, 3 core and 3lower body exercises- 1 min each, repeat 3-5 times
Friday: rest or alternate sports. How about Ultimate Frisbee?!
Saturday: Duathlon - this requires running shoes - and rollerski gear (helmet, poles, boots, rollerskis)
BUT please bring walking poles in case we have to revert to plan B again😜👌
