When the SOD series races are posted, we should be able to see them in a link from this address above. We should keep our eyes open for this. The SOD races are the reason Jr. Devos are primarily training!! And keep in mind that no races are mandatory!
Our winter schedule will be:
December 15-16 - OCup#1 Nakkertok
Jan 4-6 - OCup #2 and Canada Winter Games Trials - Thunder Bay
Jan 19-20 - OCup #3 - Walden
Feb 1-3 - Eastern's and OCup #4 - Highlands Nordic
Feb 16 - 17 - OCup #5 - Nippissing Nordic in North Bay. This is also OU's
(University games) they will have another race on the 18th. OCup races will be in the afternoon on both days.
Feb 23-24 - Ontario Youth Championships - North Bay Nordic
March 13-20 - Ski Nationals - Nakkertok
Mar 30-31 or April 6-7 - OCup #6 - location not yet decided
Rooms have been booked for Nationals but not at any other race site. We will need to book rooms at the following places and we will need to know how many people will be attending. Please talk it over with your family and something will be posted where you can sign up for the trip. This has to happen in September for us to be sure of having rooms
The youngest category for Nationals is Juvenile so any Jr would have to race 'up' and I will have to look into this, so please let me know.
The trips that we will need to know about are:
Dec 15-16 - Nakkertok we will arrive the morning before the 1st race
January 4-6 - the coaches will arrive on the 2nd with the bulk of the team on the 3rd in the am
Jan 19-20 - Walden in Sudbury. Once again we will arrive the day before, for now. XCSO is working on a schedule where the race on the 19th would be in the afternoon so it would be possible to drive up that day and only have to stay for one night. Stay tuned (BTW Jan 20 is International Snow Day and there will be a ski festival at Walden that day that will include a race for Atom aged skiers (2009, 2010)
Feb 1-3 - Eastern's - we will not need rooms for this event unless skiers from the GTA want to stay up north for the weekend. Billets could also be worked out.
Feb 16-17 - North Bay. Here we would be arriving the morning of the 1st race, except maybe for the coaches.
Feb 23-24 - North Bay again. Arrival will likely be on the 22nd. This race is for Midgets born 2005, 2006, Pee-wees born 2007, 2008 and, new this year, Atoms born 2009, 2010
March 13-20 - Nakkertok. As I said above, rooms have been booked for this event. Some may arrive on the 10 with the bulk of the skiers arriving on the 11th.
March 30-31 or April 6-7 - if this race happens it will be in the Soo. XCSO is still working on finding a site that will do it.
