What a fabulous Xmas exchange and PJ day
I hope these memories stick with you as long as your skiing skills!
Saturday: 9am-noon - 9:29 skiing away from Chalet. I would ideally like to run this practice as a classic lesson with technique and endurance with some downhill specific training. I have picked up a few tidbits from a coaching lesson I had this week that I would like to share. I would like to VIDEO you and have a look at your technique on the iPAD. WARNING: As usual, please bring ALL equipment because it may turn into a skate day depending on conditions - it could be an ice-skating rink out there so we need to be prepared to skate if necessary.
Sunday: 9-12 noon. There will be a Time Trial (TT) set up with the entire team today. There will be 2 main courses 5k and 10k and then a shorter 2-2.5km for the mini-midgets and peewee. There will be a long warm-up for this event. All are invited. Not sure about technique yet but likely skate.
PLEASE NOTE: There is an athletes meeting at noon with Declan.
News for Tuesday night families: Starting the week of the 7-11th I will not be able to run practices from 5-7 at Hardwood on Tuesdays. I am open to options. I can offer practices Mondays or Thursdays.... or from 7-8pm Tuesday or Wednesday. I am truly sorry to upend the season like this but my hands are tied when it comes to selecting my timetable. I would like to chat with all of you to create a solution that benefits us all.
For the next month we basically have races every weekend - so training will be 1 midweek practice, and on weekends it will be a race day (usually Sunday but not always) and a training day on the other weekend day. Remember it is up to you and your family to register!
On the weekend of the 19th-20th I will be heading to Walden for an OCup - it is one of the few OCup race weekends that I think is suitable for most/all of our racers. There is a younger category race day on the Sunday for the mini-Devos. Please contact me if you have any questions about these events or entering categories.
