Week of Nov 1st - Time Change is Coming...

Wednesday – MORE Running and MORE Strength Training (BRING HEADLAMPS!!!)

Meet at the Palace between 5:15-5:20PM ready to RUN!  We will be welcoming back our Cross Racers (Anna B-P, Claire, Mason, and Anna V), so we should have two full teams for Soccer Baseball ⚽⚾.

We will play until it gets DARKER (with Strength Exercises for EVERY hit) and then head out for a primarily Double-Track Run.  We'll see if we can make it to the North end of HSB and BACK!

NOTE - You will NEED a HEADLAMP🌞 as we'll need them now to see the Trail.  Also, be sure to bring good trail running shoes (and tall socks) as well as be sure to watch the forecast for the evening and dress accordingly.

Saturday – Fitness Testing💪😍🏃

We will be doing a repeat of the Fitness Testing from the Skills Assessment Day in late September at Hardwood.

Please arrive at The Palace by 9:15AM so we can get moving right at 9:30AM

We have kept the results from September and will be able to show each of you how much you've improved!

We will also be sending each of you a "Goals Sheet" for the Winter for you to complete.  Remember that you should only compare your improvements against yourself.  We'll continue to talk more about this in the coming weeks.

As for the rest of your week, here are some suggestions for other activities should you need them:
  • Be active every day, get enough sleep and be sure to always eat healthy
  • Running – Try for 20-30min.  Start easy, but find some hills if you can!
  • Cycling – Try for 45-60min, either on-road or off-road
  • Fun at Recess – Play Basketball, Touch Football, Grounders, or just about anything that has you moving and jumping
  • Strength Training – Try some of the exercised that we do at practice on your own.  These can all be done either inside or outside and I would encourage everyone to try to do one additional Run/Strength session each week.  Perhaps each Monday combine them with a run in your local park or forest!
  • Be sure to keep working on your mobility either through stretching, yoga, pilates, etc.  There are LOTS of great resources online
  • We know that most of you are quite active between practices, just be sure you are doing something for 45-60min most every day.
