Week of Dec 26th - Let's Go Racing

We hope everyone is having an enjoyable holiday break so far.

We saw so many great efforts put forward at the Yuletide Blast today as well as so many smiling faces afterward - see HERE for the results.

Below is our Holiday Practice schedule:

  • Tues Dec 27th - Yuletide Blast at Highlands Nordic
  • Thurs Dec 29th - HSB for 10AM
  • Sat Dec 31st - HSB for 10AM
  • Sun Jan 1st - No Practice
  • Tues Jan 3rd - HSB for 10AM
  • Thurs Jan 5th - HSB for 10AM
  • Sat Jan 7th - HSB for 10AM
  • Sun Jan 8th - HSB for 10AM

Thursday - Skate Skiing at HSB

We will meet at The Chalet to be ready to ski at 10AM.  We will be doing Skate and working on BALANCE and GLIDE as well as shooting some video for each skier to see.

Saturday – Seeing what the Weather Holds...

We will have some holiday fun at HSB that will include a ski, some games as well as our long-awaited Annual Gift Exchange which was postponed from last week.

We will send a follow-up email with more details on the practice, including whether we will Skate or Classic, later this week.

We'll also keep to our regular timelines of arriving by 9:45AM so that we can get moving by 10:00AM.  Meet at The Chalet and practice will run until 11:45AM to 12:00PM depending on the weather.

As for the rest of your week, here are some suggestions for other activities should you need them:
  • Be active every day, get enough sleep and be sure to always eat healthily
  • Running – Try for 20-30min.  Start easy, but find some hills if you can!
  • Cycling – Try for 20-30min, indoors on a Spin Bike while watching your favourite show
  • Strength Training – Keep up with the exercises that we did at practice in the Fall on your own.  We would encourage everyone to keep up with doing one Run/Strength session each week.
  • Be sure to keep working on your mobility either through stretching, yoga, pilates, etc.  There are LOTS of great resources online
  • We know that most of you are quite active between practices, just be sure you are doing something for 45-60min most every day.
