Hi gang! Super amazing weekend for your duathlon (including making a race plan, and following through with it to a post race reflection). We had all junior athletes on rollerskis for a super ski after the race. Well done. Everyone has made improvements in technique. We are just waiting for snow! Start the snow dances everybody!!!
This week will be more work on technique and some intensity and we will end the week with the SkiErg world Sprint challenge.
PARENTS: Saturday practice is at 9am -12 this week. Team Hardwood will be entered in a draw if we have a minimum of 30 entries, so please try your skill set on Saturday. It will take about 5 minutes!!!
Sullivan will help to send out information as to how to enter our times before Saturday- which may just require him to know your name and your sprint time - or it could mean he will send a website for you to enter in your time under Teamhardwood. More on this on Saturday.
Monday: Rest or alternate sports
Tuesday: Run or rollerski minimum 30 minutes with intensities (or hills). STRETCH.
Wednesday: Rollerski and short workout (last chance to practice the Erg before the challenge)
Thursday: Warm-up, strength, cooldown. Try to add a few core blast activities including balance moves. STRETCH.
Friday: Rest or alternate sport. Now that you can play ultimate frisbee, you can play at home!
Saturday: Sprint races and workout on Ergs. BUT Bring ski walking poles, rollerskis, skate poles, helmet, gloves and skate boots. A buff may be needed for ears under your helmet.
NOTE: PRACTICE BEGINS AT 9am SATURDAY AS WE ARE JOINING THE PROVINCIAL AND NATIONAL ATHLETES FOR THE ERG SPRINTS! We will finish up at noon
