Dec 18-Dec24 Holiday time!

Look who dropped in to give us a cheer!  Lenny Valjas is a Canadian Olympic Skier who got his start (and remains to be a part of) Team Hardwood.

Wow Wow and more Wow!  I was sooo impressed with your day at the Yuletide Race in Duntroon.
Most of you had some kind of race plan (even if some of you had it in your head). Most of you told Jack about one thing you did well and one thing you want to work on for the future. Well done. No one missed a start, everyone came in with a smile! 

Our next SOD event is in Midland on January 7th.  I checked the website and the race notice is not posted for 2018 yet. Keep your eye out.  I believe it will be a classic loppett.

On Wednesday December 20 the Hardwood Invitational is being held at Hardwood. This will be another great opportunity for you to practice racing. Even though your school may not be going to this race you can still enter as an independent. If you are not in high school you can enter in the Open category. Try to do this race. Jack will be there to do video and to help you to work on your race plans.

THIS WEEK:
Monday: Rest or Alternative Cardio/ downhill skiing is open!!!
Tuesday: Can you get out for a classic ski?  Even if it is a golf course nearby... 1 hr
Wednesday: 5pm Hardwood - We will work on the Black Hole loop.  Bring a headlamp. Skating.
Thursday:  Strength - same as last week. Try to include plyo - some box jumps - but a good chunk of upper body and a core blast!
Friday: Rest or Alternative Cardio
Saturday: I will pop over Saturday morning for 9:30 and get you set up for a classic ski with a short technique blast and then you can head out for a long ski together. I will have to leave early as I am invited to a very special lady's 70th birthday party...my MOM's!!!

Looking ahead:
Saturday January 6th - 9:30 practice (classic but always bring both) bring your wax for the day.

Then it is the Christmas break. Have a joyful and safe holiday with your loved on. es. Don't miss me too much, I will see you again on the 6th for practice....geesh.
