Tuesday - Running Around your Neighbourhood
Sadly no practice on Tuesday, but we are asking that you go for a run in your local neighborhood instead. If you want to make the run more interesting, consider wearing a costume?
If any of your neighbours like your costume, you could ask them for some sort of reward for your efforts? Maybe some candy?
If you do plan to visit your neighbours and ask for some sort of reward, from my experience you should bring some sort of bag, or sack, to carry it in.
Hopefully, everyone is okay with missing practice this week for this self-directed workout;)
Either way, stay safe and visible!
Saturday – Orienteering "Treat" Run
If you have any candy left after your fun on Tuesday, keep it at home as we'll be topping up your stores on Saturday!
Please arrive at The Palace between 9:15AM to 9:20AM so that we can explain how the Orienteering Run will work.
The run will be done as teams and were are looking for parent volunteers to accompany each team. We'll send out a separate note about this to the parents.
The run will be based on time (1hr) so we'll look to start running by 9:45AM and have all teams return by 10:45AM. We'll play a wrap-up game between 11:00AM and 11:30AM.
For the rest of the week:
- Be active every day, get enough sleep and be sure to always eat healthy
- Running – Try for 20-30min. Start easy, but find some hills if you can!
- Cycling – Try for 45-60min, either on-road or off-road
- Fun at Recess – Play Basketball, Touch Football, Grounders, or just about anything that has you moving and jumping
- Strength Training – Try some of the exercises that we do at practice on your own. These can all be done either inside or outside and I would encourage everyone to try to do one additional Run/Strength session each week. Perhaps combine them with a run in your local park or forest!
- Be sure to keep working on your mobility either through stretching, yoga, pilates, etc. There are LOTS of great resources online
- We know that most of you are quite active between practices, just be sure you are doing something for 45-60min most every day.
