Tuesday and Saturday (Correction)
We are now at the time of year when we need to be ready to react to the conditions to find the best places to have FUN on Snow!
That also means getting your ski gear ready, keeping watch on your email and WhatsApp, and being ready to go where the conditions are best.
Right now it seems likely that we'll be able to slide around on "some snow somewhere near Barrie" on Tuesday night. That might mean a local sports field, that might even mean in the parking lot at HSB where we play soccer-baseball.
We will be watching the weather over the next 24hrs, getting updates from folks in the Barrie and HSB area as to how much snow has fallen in their respective locales.
By 12PM to 2PM on Tuesday we will have a plan as to where we will ski, and what technique we'll recommend, but plan that we WILL SKI on Tuesday at 5:30PM for at least 90min.
Please remember that HSB will be protective of their trails if there is enough snow that they can get their machines out to roll the trails. That means we might NOT be able to ski at HSB just yet if they are working on the trails to prepare them for the weekend.
- Be active every day, get enough sleep and be sure to always eat healthily
- Running – Try for 20-30min. Start easy, but find some hills if you can!
- Cycling – Try for 20-30min, indoors on a Spin Bike while watching your favourite show
- Strength Training – Keep up with the exercises that we did at practice in the Fall on your own. We would encourage everyone to keep up with doing one Run/Strength session each week.
- Be sure to keep working on your mobility either through stretching, yoga, pilates, etc. There are LOTS of great resources online
- We know that most of you are quite active between practices, just be sure you are doing something for 45-60min most every day.
