Feb 19 - Feb 25 The Sounder ** UPDATES

Please see updates in RED
Hi Everyone!  Happy Family Day!

I hope you are resting and recovering from that amazing weekend of racing in North Bay. Well done!
I hope you all learned something new about racing and pacing, and having fun!  I was so excited when I caught people PASSING others using the inside corners doing the 'shoot the ski' technique....loved that. I think Cross Country Ontario Jury Member Katja also liked some of what she saw.... as she awarded Thomas with a technique award! Dwayne was very happy to hear that you were all passing people on the downhills using your speedy skis!  Way to go Team Hardwood!

I have so many 'thank you's to your families for the support and dedication to the team. It was great for Shawn to lead the wax team all weekend and work with the Dwayne who came all the way to North Bay for our Junior Devo team. Everyone truly played a part in making the weekend a success!
How could I forget to mention the very hard work of organizing and planning food and accomodations (and parking....the list goes on) that Ray Ryan contributed for this adventure. Thanks for that!

So this is a short week, I hope you were resting today with your family!

Tuesday: Looks very warm....and wet.... How about Strength - 10min warm up 10min cool down - maybe a warm wet run in the rain?
Wednesday: Training - probably too warm to classic, so stay tuned for weather cancellations but let's plan to skate. 6pm-8pm
WEDNESDAY HARDWOOD WILL STILL BE CLOSED AND I WAS THERE TONIGHT AND WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCESS ERGS.   LETS MEET AT MY HOUSE  (22 CATHEDRAL PINES) AT 6PM - AND SNOWSHOE THE PINE RIDGE DOWNHILL SKI HILL. BRING HEADLAMP, SNOWSHOES, WALKING POLES AND A SENSE OF ADVENTURE. HOW ABOUT A QUICK HOT TUB AFTER?  SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN.... BRING A SUIT.

Thursday:  Still looks warm but not raining why not go for a run!  Try to get out and do 30-45min with some 1min pick ups at 80% ....Unless you can get out on skis, then 1-1.5hr
Friday: Same as Thursday. Run, or ski, alternate sport, maybe even bike riding by then....!
*Saturday: TT (time trials) at hardwood followed by a fun ski. I will update on technique but likely skate....stay tuned.
SATURDAY IS 9AM START WITH JACK
*Sunday: Sounder - Stay tuned as there may be cancellations. So far I see 0 team hardwood athletes (apart from masters) looks like you are already watching the weather.  If you want SOD points, then
you must complete the 3km classic for PeeWee and 5km classic for Midget skiers.

* I am away on the weekend at the L2T (Learn to Train) NCCP course. I hope to bring back a LOT of new tools in my coaching toolbox that will help us finish up this season and lead us into the off season of rollerskiing and base training.
