Most of the reports I have heard involve massive amounts of laughter and some kind of podium or personal best for the day. WELL DONE. There are even stories of crossing finish lines....backwards....? This fun and success extends largely to your support team, so don't forget to give them a huge thank you!
Ontario Winter Games athletes: You should rest Monday, short strength (50% of what you may normally do and focus on core) and some short cardio, stretch Tuesday. Wednesday please pre-ski the course between 1-4 - it has moved to the Alpine side. I am sorry I cannot join you until 6:30pm.
Thursday and Friday are race days.
Monday: Rest or alternate sport.
Tuesday: Strength and core - you will need some serious core for a downhill/cross event Sunday.
Check out this Mountain biker's workout (pretty much sking without snow, on wheels)... I challenge you to come up with a 2 exercise sequence - one to make muscles work, followed by one to practice balance....I will make up a prize for this! Maybe even a good one.

Wednesday: Who is around? I will be at the Ontario Winter Games with Thomas and Eric. Dan has offered to run a midget Olympics at Hardwood if it is open.....sounds like fun. Can you just let me/us know if you are in? THANKS!
Thursday: Short run or ski with pick ups - 10 - 10second sprints and about 45 min of exercise
Friday: Rest or alternate sport - how about basketball? Swimming....Rollerskiing?
Saturday: Practice 9:30am-11:30 -EAT - Then volunteering and recruiting. Please wear full Team kit. We could use all hands on deck to help run the Nordikids race happening at Hardwood (see note below in blue) Some of the competitors will be your teammates next year! We will be 'advertising' our program as well as volunteering. PARENTS - this was discussed at Eastern's - our ability to make a lasting impression of our program on the feeders. Parent conversations will also be useful in answering the 'behind the scene' questions so any support would be appreciated!
Sunday: Midland ski Cross. See link below. As with recent events, stay tuned for conditions.

Saturday:
From Arienne: The race starts at 12:30 so having everyone meet at 11:50 would be great. The kids range from 5-12 so yes the Trail Shredders will be there (your feeders).
I'll need 3 marshals at the turn around, 2 at the start, 1 or 2 for finish line bib collection and 1 for timing.
