The End of the Season is Coming Soon....
We've had a great season in spite of all of the challenges that have been thrown our way.
Sarah, Bronwen, and I wanted to say a big "Thank You" to all of the Team Hardwood Junior Families and Skiers for showing both great perseverance and a strong sense of teamwork through this past season.
We were so fortunate to be able to keep up with our favourite winter sport and you all did amazing as you just kept skiing, and skiing, and skiing!
You all put-in great efforts in our Time Trials and we truly hope they kept your fire for racing warm until next year.
We are so excited for the next ski season where we hope to see a return to normal group training and traveling to other clubs to racing and to see some of the friends we've missed.
We would like to do a "wrap-up" meeting with each skier and their parents over Zoom in the next week or so. That way we can let your skier know how great they did this year, get any feedback you might have about the program, and finally talk about some of our recommendations for next year.
We will send out details on these meetings in a forthcoming email.
Wednesday - SKATE - Staying on the Teaching Flats
Please arrive as close to 5:15PM as we will start the practice at 5:30PM SHARP.
Meet at the Lonesome Pine and we will stay in the lit sections around the Teaching Flats for the first 30min for Games, Skills, and Drills.
We will stay around the Teaching Flats for a 30min continuous ski.
We do some more fun Sprints and Relays starting at 6:30PM.
We will wrap-up at 7PM.
Saturday (Skate) & Sunday (Classic)
The weather looks AMAZING and we plan to practice BOTH DAYS!
We would also like to do some sort of a Fun Day on either Saturday or Sunday, but want to be sure that ALL can attend. If you can only come on one of the two days, please let us know which day you're coming and hopefully we can make it work for all.
More details about meeting location each day by Friday. We'll see how the Sochi Extension does this week in terms of snow coverage, but I would like to see about meeting there one of the two days.
Perhaps we could even do a "Parking Lot Party" after practice with some Snacks and Music!
More to come!
