Jan 15- Jan21 Walden (or Hardwood practice)

Great Day at Highlands Nordic!  That was a tricky day as it was FREEZING - I think we all learned a thing or two about our skate skiing and pacing. I think we all saw first hand was how slow and concentrated a pre-ski should be. Zone 1. We skied behind Declan and Jack and noticed even the National level athletes take it very easy before a race.

It reminds me of a saying: Train Hard, Race Easy.

Check out this video of some recent World Cup Sprints in Dresden, Germany. Look for transitions from 1 Skate, 2 Skate, Offset, and Hop Skate (up hills) and even the cornering we practiced last Wednesday. Can Klaebo be beat??  You never know how a race will go, even based on previous results. Never give up, and always ski your best.

****NOTICE****
Many of you are already aware of this, but I need to move Wednesday night practice to 6-8pm starting January 24th. So we have one more practice at 5-7pm and then we will meet at 6 for the remainder of the season. We will continue to do our time trials TT on the teaching flats, and add different locations if the light is good (aka headlamps). I really want to do the black hole circuit as a TT loop...what do you think????  The coyotes will love us!
